Lock Sensitive Google Groups to Prevent Changes
Admins can now label Google Groups as “Locked” to restrict edits to names, email addresses, and memberships. This is especially useful for organisations syncing groups from external identity providers like Entra ID. Once locked, only specific admin roles can make changes—ensuring critical groups remain consistent and secure.

User-Managed Encryption with Hardware Keys in Gmail
Gmail now supports hardware key certificate management for client-side encryption. Users can upload their own digital signing and encryption certificates—without admin intervention. This boosts security for highly regulated environments while giving users more autonomy.

Google Vids Now Available to All Education Customers
Google Vids—formerly limited to Education Plus—is now available to all Google Workspace for Education customers. This browser-based video creation tool supports instructional videos, student projects, newsletters, and internal training, and integrates directly with Google Classroom.
Note: AI features remain exclusive to Education Plus users.

Better Compatibility with Microsoft Office Files in Drive
Google Drive now supports embedded PDFs within Microsoft Office files—ensuring a more seamless experience when opening, viewing, and collaborating on Office documents.

Multilingual Image Generation with Imagen 4 in Docs, Slides & Vids
Users with Gemini access can now use Imagen 4 to generate high-quality, AI-created visuals from text prompts—now supporting 20+ languages and delivering better text rendering and design fidelity across Docs, Slides, and Vids.

Automate Daily Tasks with Gemini Scheduled Actions
You can now schedule recurring Gemini actions—like morning briefings, task reminders, or competitive summaries. Available via chat or prompt-based triggers, this helps boost productivity and keeps users informed automatically.
