Google Drive: Introducing Video Engagement Insights

Google Drive now offers built-in video analytics. Users can access a new “analytics” section in the file details panel to see how often a video has been viewed. This update helps teams understand content engagement directly within Google Drive and is available to all Workspace users, including those with personal accounts. Rollout to scheduled release domains is set to begin on 09 June 2025.

NotebookLM: Mobile App and Custom Audio Overviews

NotebookLM is now available as a mobile app for Android and iOS, offering portable access to notes and documents. On the web, users can now customise the length of audio overviews—podcast-style summaries that make learning and review more convenient, with mobile support coming soon.

Google Vids: New ‘Getting Started’ Page

Google Vids now includes a redesigned 'Getting Started' page to simplify video creation. Users can storyboard, record, apply templates, or start from scratch. This update is available across most Workspace editions, including business, enterprise, education, and non-profit tiers with Gemini add-ons.

Google Docs: Now Edit Client-Side Encrypted Word Files

Google Docs has added support for editing Microsoft Word files that are encrypted with client-side encryption (CSE). This feature allows users to collaborate securely without sacrificing functionality. Available on web browsers and rolling out to users on supported Workspace editions, it further strengthens data privacy and interoperability within the Workspace environment.
