Upcoming Google Workspace Community Hangouts

Reaching DMARC enforcement is a massive win for securing your domain but attackers don’t just pack up and go home when they hit a wall, they pivot.

From your users' inboxes to Instagram feeds, bad actors are launching sophisticated brand impersonation campaigns that bypass DMARC entirely to deceive your customers, vendors, and partners across the web and social media.

On Thursday 25th June, we are opening up our private Google Workspace Community Hangout to the security experts at Red Sift.

They will be pulling back the curtain on how lookalike domains, forgotten DNS records, and fake social profiles silently erode your brand integrity and exactly how you can fight back. Attendees will get a live look at how Red Sift Brand Trust uses AI-driven detection and agentic automation to uncover and shut down impersonation threats across every single digital channel.

This is an exclusive community event and will NOT be streamed live on LinkedIn. If you want to see the threat intelligence breakdown and participate in the live Q&A with Red Sift, you have to be in the virtual room.

Community Session: Google Workspace Community Hangout- Beyond DMARC: Protection against web and social media attacks

Google Workspace Updates

Here’s the latest from Google Workspace!!!

Programmatic Lifecycle Management via Workspace Policy API for DLP  Google has introduced Create, Update, and Delete mutate endpoints alongside its existing read-only capabilities for Data Loss Prevention (DLP). Super admins can now programmatically build, deploy, modify, and fully automate the entire lifecycle of their DLP policies and custom detectors across the domain. This shifts DLP from a manual setting in the admin console to a fully automated security workflow.

Google Vault Retention and Litigation Holds for the Gemini App Administrators can now enforce strict corporate compliance and data retention for AI interactions. Google Vault now fully supports retention rules and litigation holds for the Gemini app across both web and mobile interfaces. This expands upon previous search-and-export functions, allowing admins to hold or automatically purge generative AI conversation histories in line with their legal and regulatory protocols.

New Data Loss Prevention for Google Calendar and File Attachments  Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities have been significantly expanded and are now generally available for both Google Calendar and external file formats. Admins can create targeted rules to protect sensitive information embedded within event details. Additionally, new proximity conditions allow teams to automatically scan and block non-Workspace file attachments based on specific criteria, such as unauthorised file extensions or sensitive keyword strings in titles.

More Granular Admin Controls for Workspace Studio Steps and Starters  Admins are getting much tighter governance over workflow automation inside the organisation. New granular controls within the Admin Console allow you to explicitly define which steps and starters users can leverage when building automation flows in Workspace Studio. Access can be managed globally by Workspace service or locked down individually, preventing employees from deploying unvetted automated triggers or integrations.

Improvements to Out-of-Domain File-Level Warning Badges   To combat accidental data exfiltration and targeted phishing campaigns, Google has upgraded its Out-of-Domain alert system. The enhanced file-level warning badges now provide clearer visual cues and alerts directly on documents when they involve users or environments outside of your core Workspace organisation. This helps users instantly identify external or spoofed internal content before interacting with or sharing data.

Proactive Governance is the Key to Scaling! With Google rolling out features and deep automation capabilities at an accelerating pace, the challenge shifts from unlocking features to managing digital hygiene and compliance risk. Patronum bridges this gap by turning these platform insights into governed, predictable workflows. From day one onboarding setups to advanced data permissions and user lifecycles, we automate the compliance policy enforcement so your IT team can stop firefighting and focus on scale.
