Enterprise-Grade Data Protection and Core Service Status for Google Apps Google Apps Script is officially a Google Workspace core service. This is a massive update for security architecture: Apps Script is now fully covered under the Google Cloud Terms of Service. This means it instantly inherits the same enterprise-grade data protection, robust administrative controls, and standard technical support that safeguard other mission-critical core apps across your domain.

Streamline Your Infrastructure Backups with Incremental Workspace Exports Google Workspace administrators can now utilise highly efficient incremental data exports. Instead of executing resource-heavy, full domain exports every single time, admins can now push frequent, delta-only data snapshots directly into their organisation’s own Google Cloud Storage (GCS) bucket. This significantly reduces sync windows and streamlines data redundancy workflows.

Enhanced Incident Response with Expanded Admin Password Reset Alerts Google is tightening perimeter monitoring within the Alert Centre. The legacy “Super Admin password reset” alert has been expanded into a comprehensive "Admin password reset" alert. Security teams will now receive centralised, domain-wide alerts anytime a password reset occurs on any administrator role within the organisation, accelerating the detection of potential credential theft.

Granular Mobile Device Management Privileges Based on Organisational Unit Admins now have vastly superior delegated authority controls for endpoint management. You can now assign Mobile Device Management (MDM) admin privileges scoped to specific Organisational Units (OUs). This allows enterprise teams to safely delegate device wipes, profile management, and hardware audits to regional or department-specific helpdesks without granting global control.

Stricter Security Classifications and Privacy Hardening for Google Groups  Following up on security roadmaps laid out earlier this year, Google is officially rolling out stricter classification and privacy settings for Google Groups. These structural changes are designed to minimise data exposure risks by forcing stricter inheritance and access boundaries on who can view group memberships, post content, and access internal message archives.
